Application
Furnace – Heat Treatment
The Problem / Task
Heat treatment is a process in which metal is heated and cooled under tight controls to improve its properties, performance and durability. To achieve this a specific rate of rise in temperature is required along with maintaining the temperature for a certain duration and then cooling at desired temperature. Controlling such process temperature with precision and without extended operator involvement is a critical task in heat treatment.
The Solution
To achieve the desired temperature profiles, we offered 48×48 Advanced PID Temperature Controller Series PR 69 with the Analog output model to use Ramp & Soak function.
In the heating stage, the primary objective of Ramp function is to heat uniformly, and to attain and maintain uniform temperatures by slow heating.
In the soaking stage, the objective is to hold the metal at a proper temperature until the desired internal structural changes take place.
PR-69 has provision for three ramps and three soaks corresponding to SP1, SP2 and SP3.
Range for Ramp rate is: 0.00 to 99.99 unit/min
Range for Soak time is 0.00 to 99.59 hh:mm
Benefits
- Our product is suitable for 3 Ramp & 3 Soak profiles which provides precise control
- This popular controller gives a strong performance in a wide range of operating conditions
- It also displays a simplicity of function once grasped by the processing operator
- Field configurable process and deviation alarms helps to monitor the system and raise alarms for undesired conditions
