Garbage Chute – Centralize Garbage Collection System. In large buildings, it is not practical for residents or housekeeping staff to move large quantities of garbage from floor to floor on elevators or stairways. Garbage Chute provides an easy and convenient method of garbage collection in multi –storied buildings.

Garbage chute is the best way to consolidate garbage from around the building into a single location for easier collection. Complete system need to be monitored and controlled using a programmable logic controller.

Typically, in a garbage chute application, there is a possibility of multiple individuals trying to access the garbage chute at the same time. To avoid any accidental damage to the individuals, the Mini PLC PL-100 from GIC is used to effectively monitor and control the access points of garbage chute installed at every floor of the building. Door sensors of the garbage chute at each floor are linked with the PLC and this enables to govern the operation with precise timing and provides access to single user at a time. Depending on the user selection of dry and wet waste the diversion flap at the bottom of the garbage chute is controlled to effectively segregate the waste. The wet, dry and busy conditions are indicated on the display of the garbage chute.

Fire sprinkler is also controlled with the help of PLC whenever the temperature reaches above 75 deg C then then fire sprinklers open and releases water. Air vent which removes the foul smell and harmful gases generated from garbage is controlled by the PLC on a timer logic for its effective operation as well as energy saving.

In this way the complete integration of the system through PLC helps to achieve efficient segregation of garbage making its disposal safe, hygienic & convenient.
