Automatic Operation Of Compost Machine

A composting machine is a system which facilitates composting. Composting is essentially a biological activity wherein microorganisms break down complex organic substances to simpler ones thereby recycling them for use by plants and other organisms in the soil.

In a portable organic waste composting machine, it is required to monitor and control temperature, moisture level as well as proper mixing of garbage in order to produce the perfect compost manure.

For composting the right amount of moisture, temperature and proper mixing of the material is very important. Mini PLC PL-100 along with the Temperature controller and Liquid Level Controller(LLC) are used in this application. The liquid level of the input garbage is sensed by the corrosion free stainless steel electrodes and communicate to PLC through Liquid level controller. This helps for trouble free operation without any need for periodic servicing.

Based on this input, PLC gives further command to regulate the temperature of heater to control the moisture level of input garbage. This is achieved either with RS485 communication or with analog signals based on the user requirements. Temperature Controller helps to accurately sense the temperature in the chamber and control it based on the inputs of PLC. User can also view the actual temperature inside the compost chamber from the display of Temperature Controller.

To ensure proper and periodic mixing of input garbage the mixer is effectively controlled by PLC for the forward and reverse operation.

Complete integration of the system through PLC helps to achieve the highest quality of compost manure.
